Booking and payment
How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you know your date. We hold a limited number of kits for each weekend and summer Saturdays go first, often a year ahead.
How much is the deposit?
£100 secures your date and saves your card securely with Stripe. We take the balance from that card automatically six weeks before the wedding, and email you a reminder a week before. Booking within six weeks of the wedding? You pay in full when you book.
Can I change my date?
Yes. Date changes are free up to 60 days before your original date, subject to availability. After that, ask us and we will always try.
What if we cancel?
Cancel more than 60 days before and we refund everything except the £100 deposit. The full detail is in our rental agreement.
Delivery and returns
When does the kit arrive?
Two days before your wedding, by Royal Mail Special Delivery, guaranteed by 1pm and signed for. That is the Thursday for a Saturday wedding. Weddings on other days work the same way, and nothing is delivered at the weekend, so Monday and Tuesday weddings get theirs on the Friday before.
Where can you send it?
Anywhere in mainland UK, including your venue if they can sign for it. Northern Ireland, Highlands and islands may need an extra day.
How do I send it back?
Pop everything back in the box, stick on the prepaid label and drop it at any Post Office two days after the wedding. That is the Monday for a Saturday wedding.
What if I post it late?
Late returns are £20 per day, because another couple is usually waiting. Message us early and we can often sort it.
Can I take it abroad?
Yes, for destination weddings. Tell us when you book and we will make sure you have the right paperwork and chargers.
On the day
Who should film?
Pick one or two Camera Captains: confident, sociable friends who will not mind holding a camcorder for a few hours. Everyone else can pass it around.
Do they need to know how to use it?
No. It is one button to start and stop. The card in the box takes five minutes to read, and there is a short video in your portal.
What if a battery dies?
Each camcorder comes with three high-capacity batteries, which is about five hours of real filming. Guests film in short bursts, so that is plenty for most weddings, and your Camera Captain can swap batteries in seconds.
Will my venue allow it?
Almost always. They are small and quiet. Some churches limit filming during the ceremony, so it is worth checking with your officiant.
What about the speeches?
Pop the camcorder on the tabletop tripod facing the top table. Add our wireless mic for perfect sound.
Your film
How long is the film?
3 to 5 minutes with The Toast, 5 to 7 with The Double, and you keep every raw clip too.
When will we get it?
Every raw clip within two weeks of the box coming home, and your edited film within six weeks.
Can we choose the music?
Yes. Pick from our licensed library, or tell us the mood and we will choose for you. We cannot use chart songs, because of licensing.
Can we ask for changes?
Of course. One round of changes is included, and you can tell us your must-have moments before we start.
Who owns the footage?
You do. We store it for 12 months so you have plenty of time to download it, and we only share it with your permission.
Gifts
Can I buy this as a gift?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available for any package, emailed or posted in a keepsake card.
How long do vouchers last?
Two years from purchase. That is plenty of time for a long engagement.
Can it go on a gift list?
Yes. Add our gift fund link to your wedding website or registry and guests can chip in.
